LORE
Before time was measured…
Before love was named…
There were five. Not born of flesh,
nor bound by death,
but forged in the first light that ever touched Eden.
They were known as “The Ashes of Eden”
keepers of divine love, guardians of what mortals would one day call soulmates.
Where two hearts were destined to find one another… they stood unseen between them.
Not to control fate,
but to protect the fragile thread that binds one soul to another.
Love, in its purest form, was never left alone.
It was watched.
It was guarded.
It was sacred.
The Price of a Broken Bond
But love, even when written in the stars… is still carried by human hands.
And humans… break.
Each time a soulmate turns away, each time a heart is abandoned, betrayed, or left to grieve, the Covenant does not remain untouched.
A feather falls.
Not metaphorically… but physically, from the wings of those who protect them.
A piece of something eternal, shed for something painfully human.
The Exchange
There is a deeper law, older than Eden itself. When heartbreak consumes a soul so entirely that they choose to leave this world… The Covenant answers.
Not with judgment. Not with silence. But with sacrifice.
For every life lost to love… a piece of an angel is taken in its place.
A feather becomes ash.
A wing becomes fractured.
A being of eternity… becomes less.
The Slow Unravelling
They do not fall all at once. They fade. Feather by feather. Memory by memory. Light by light. Until one day… nothing remains but ash and echo.
And still,
they continue their watch. Because to abandon love… would be to abandon the very thing they were created to protect.
Each Seraph bears a mark…
not chosen… but given.
A sacred sigil etched into their being, a reflection of the love they were bound to protect.
